Domesticated Cat shot and injured by Air Weapon in Gundleton

Alert message sent 09/06/2020 20:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear Citizen,

It saddens me to report that a domesticated cat was shot earlier this afternoon (09/06/2020) in Gundleton by a person using an 'Air Weapon'.
The cat sustained injuries requiring Veterinary treatment to remove the metal shot which has resulted with the cat receiving stitches and medication.
It is an offence under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 to cause unnecessary suffering to any animal and should any person be identified as causing such suffering will be prosecuted by Hampshire Constabulary's Country Watch Team.

If you have any information which would assist in this investigation please feel free to e-mail me directly at scott.graham@hampshire.pnn.police.uk
My investigation is ongoing.
The good news is that the Cat has returned home for some love and recovery :)

Kind Regards, Scott
