Welcome to Hampshire & Isle of Wight Country Watch
Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary has dedicated Country Watch teams across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The main aims of Country Watch are to reduce rural crime, reassure rural residents and improve communication and engagement.
Our dedicated Country Watch officers work closely with our rural communities to provide engagement, education and reassurance on the issues that matter most to them. The teams also identify and disrupt, through proactive operations, those who are intent on committing offences in our rural areas. We are determined to not only target those who commit these crimes, but to also reduce opportunities for crime to take place and make it a hostile environment for travelling criminals.
We work with neighbouring forces and use the full range of tactics available to us to target and disrupt individuals and groups who clearly demonstrate a propensity for criminality and target vulnerable areas.
We also work closely with partner agencies and communicate directly with the networks that exist within the rural community to highlight issues and engage with them to build strong relationships and increase their confidence in our ability to provide a visible policing presence in the areas that matter to them.
Our communities are vital in helping us tackle crime. They are our eyes and ears and know the areas in which they live. By encouraging them to report any suspicious activity when they see it, we can respond to their concerns and work with them to make their communities even safer.
If you want to play your part in working with us to find out what is happening in your neighbourhood, please register today.
