Police re-appeal for information following an arson at a childrens play area in Swaythling

Officers investigating an arson, after a children’s play area was set alight in Southampton, are re-appealing for witnesses and information.

At 11.10pm on Wednesday, 23 June, we received a call from our colleagues at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, reporting a suspected arson at a children’s play park in Daisy Dip off Bluebell Road in Swaythling.

Following initial investigations carried out by the fire service, the cause of the fire is being treated as suspicious.

Officers have been carrying out extensive enquiries in the area since the incident and are still keen to hear from anyone who may have any information that that could assist their investigation.
