Witness appeal following suspected assault in Aldershot

Alert message sent 29/06/2021 18:23:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

We are appealing for witnesses following a suspected assault in Aldershot on Saturday night (26 June).

Between 9pm and 10pm on the A325, at the junction of Pavilion Road, a 33-year-old man sustained head injuries and a suspected fractured elbow in what was initially reported as a road traffic incident.

But officers now believe the man may have been assaulted.

DC Matthew Deery, who is leading the investigation, said: “We are treating this incident as an assault but this could well be a road traffic incident or a combination of the two.

“While several witnesses have come forward who saw the man before and after the incident, so far we have not spoken to anyone who actually saw what happened.

“If you witnessed the incident, or have any other information which could help us find out how this man came to be injured, we ask that you get in touch.”

Call 101, quoting incident number 44210252089.

Alternatively, people can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at https://crimestoppers-uk.org/.
