Catalytic converter theft in Weyhill

Alert message sent 20/08/2020 09:31:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear resident,

Please be aware that we have received a report of a theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle that was parked in the Rosebourne Garden Centre car park, Weyhill. This occurred on Thursday 13th August between 11:30 and 14:00. CCTV is being reviewed.

Things that you can do to prevent opportunistic thieves from targeting your vehicle include parking near to buildings with people inside, parking near to CCTV and at night, well-lit areas. Park close to fences, walls or a kerb with the exhaust being closest to the fence, wall or kerb to make the theft more difficult. Avoid parking your vehicle half on the pavement and half on the road, as this may make it easier for thieves to access the catalytic converter.

If you see anything suspicious, report it to us. Non emergency use 101 or online. Emergency use 999.

Stay safe,
