Alert message sent 06/12/2019 19:16:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good Evening,

Hampshire Constabulary would like to bring to your attention four properties which have fallen subject to dwelling burglaries. The targeted properties were within Athoke Croft and Hawthorne Rise, Hook.
These unfortunate incidents took place in your local neighbourhood on Thursday 5th December 2019 between 12:15 and 19:20hrs. These incidents are currently being investigated by the Police and we would like to request your assistance.
Did you hear anything out of the ordinary?
Did you see anything out of the ordinary?
Do you have CCTV coverage of the nearby area or road?
If you can answer yes to the above or if you have any other information that may be used to further our enquiries, then please call 101. Leave what ever information you have, along with your contact details under crime reference number: 44190438051 so that an officer can contact you if required.

At this time these incidents appear to form part of a larger series of burglaries which are occurring over a vast area. We would like to reassure our community that incidents of this nature are investigated robustly and that increased patrols of the Hook area will be underway.

We have attached some crime prevention literature, if we can ask that you check the security of your home and vehicles in order to prevent yourself becoming a victim of this serious crime. In addition to the advice provided we are also asking that you do not advertise the fact you are not home. Leaving notes to delivery drivers can often be a clear indication that a resident is away from the property. Please also ensure side gates are locked and secured as offender/s will often use the rear of a property to gain entry.
Please report any suspicious activity on 101. In an emergency please call 999.
