Dwelling Burglary

Alert message sent 21/10/2019 14:55:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Officers are currently investigating a Dwelling Burglary that occurred today (21/10/2019) between the hours 09:30 and 11:30 this morning. This incident occurred in the Fraser Close area of Old Basing, Basingstoke.

Have you seen or heard anything unusual or suspicious recently? Do you have any information that may assist Police with their enquiries?

If so please contact Police by calling 101 quoting reference number 44190376921.

In the meantime we are reminding residents the following advice –
Ensure side gates are locked to prevent access to the rear of the property.
  • Ensure rear fencing is in good repair.
  • Lock all windows and doors, remembering to double lock UPVC doors (lift handle and turn the key)
  • Keep all keys out of reach and sight from the letterbox (remember a device could be used to hook keys through letterbox).
  • Do not leave ladders and garden tools in your garden, lock them away in your shed.
  • Improve natural surveillance at the front of your property i.e. trim high hedges.
Remember most of these offences are opportunist in nature and by taking even simple precautions you can greatly reduce your likelihood of becoming a victim.
Remove temptation!!

You are more likely to be burgled if your property is unoccupied, security is weak and the burglar thinks they will not be seen/ get caught.
