Aldershot South - NewsLetter

Alert message sent 15/10/2019 13:47:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear Residents
Our sincere apologies for the delay in October’s newsletter. It has been a busy month for us on the South.
We do still get reports of Burglaries however there appears to have been a slight decrease. We have been trying hard to get crime prevention advice out to residents about making sure doors and windows are locked when you leave. A criminal will look for open windows so DO NOT give them an opportunity to access your property. As the nights are drawing in please also consider putting lights on timer switches this could deter a criminal making it appear that someone is at home.
We have had many reports of Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB). Please do keep reporting this to us this helps us build a picture of an area where problems may start and escalate, we may conduct target patrolling in areas to reduce this issue.
Theft from motor vehicles again we are still getting many reports. There have been reports where doors have been left unlocked. We cannot stress how important it is to double check that your doors are locked and try not to rely on the locking sound from the key. Also please take valuables out of your car, again we are still receiving reports where criminals have taken bank cards, cash and other valuables from vehicles.
If you see anything suspicious please call this through on 101 or 999 if needed. You can also visit our website to report crimes, incidents and pass information on to us.
We have had reports of females/males knocking on peoples doors either asking for money or to use the phone. Criminals will lie about their circumstances to either get money or access to properties, please be vigilant and report any incidents like this to police. Do not let them into your property. Always ask for ID from people reporting to be professionals.
Aldershot South NPT work very closely with our local councillors. We meet up and discuss issues and they help set our Beat Priorities and will alert us if there are any issues that may need our attention. Obviously if there is an incident or crime this will have to be reported through the correct channels however if there is an issue that may lead to future problems we can discuss this through with them.
Aldershot South Priorities
ASB and related offences in Park areas of Aldershot South including housing and industrial estates.

Speed Watch – To establish, promote and enhance Speed Watch in Aldershot South.

PCSO GODBOLD is arranging a Speed Watch training day so hopefully this will be completed in due course.
The neighbourhood’s team will be attending the P&R Café in North Lane on the 19th October for CopsNCoffee. Please feel free to attend and discuss any concerns we will also have crime prevention advice to hand.
