Theft from motor vehicles

Dear Residents,
Our area has seen an increase in ‘theft’ from motor vehicles and an increase in mindless damage. Much of this is happening off Locksway Road and the surrounding roads.
Most of these offences are opportunist. Please help us!
If you see valuable possessions left visible inside a vehicle tell your neighbours and friends as they are much more likely to be targeted.
Please:
When leaving you vehicle, close all windows and lock your doors

Try your car door to ensure it is actually locked

Don’t leave anything on display in your vehicle

Taking all your personal possessions and valuables when leaving your vehicle

Removing sat nav holders from your windshield

Ensure your vehicle alarm is active

Leave the glove box open to show there’s nothing inside

Don’t leave any important documents regarding the vehicle left inside

Leaving your vehicle parked in a well-lit area

If you have a business or property around Locksway Road that’s fitted with CCTV, ensure that it is working and recording. Please do notify us if you do have it and a willing for this to be held on our data base. Please email;

Call 999 if:
A serious offence is in progress or has just been committed

Someone is in immediate danger or harm

Property is in danger of being damaged

A serious disruption to the public is likely
