North Update

Alert message sent 12/10/2019 19:12:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Good Evening

Time for another update.

Since the last update theft from motor vehicles has improved however they are still happening, could we all make sure that there is no valuables left in the car at any times and ensure that cars are locked, people that are stealing from cars are trying door handles to gain entry, so it is important that you check your car to ensure that it is locked securely.

It’s getting towards the time of year where there is an increase im pickpocketing, when outside please ensure that all purses and wallets are secure and if they are kept in a handbag please ensure that they are zipped up.

Burglaries – this is also a major issue at the moment, Popley and Oakridge are both reoccurring locations for burglaries, I would advise that all doors and windows are closed and locked when the occupants are out and at Night time, I would also advise that all outbuilding, garages and shed are locked at all times.

Yesterday I was in attendance at a meeting with councillors to discuss drug issues and general wellbeing of residents in the Oakridge area, I can say that we have come up with some good ideas to try and make people feel safer and are working to get these ideas made in to reality.

If all you could possibly give our Facebook page alike, we put loads of important information on there about things that are happening in Basingstoke which could be beneficial for you to keep an eye on.

That’s all from me for this update and if you see me out and about please feel free to stop me and discuss any issues you have.
