Two men arrested following suspicious rural incident near Tadley |

Two men have been arrested after officers responded to a report of suspicious rural incident near Tadley last night. We were called at 10.57pm on Thursday 18 June after unknown people had gained access to land at a property on Pitfield Lane, near Mortimer Common. It was reported that the group were shining torches and they may have had weapons. Officers deployed to the area and located a Ford Focus containing two men and three children. The vehicle was searched and officers found balaclavas, slingshots, and stones. A 34-year-old man from Mortimer was arrested on suspicion of: Conspire to commit a burglary dwelling with intent to steal Possess an offensive weapon in a public place A 45-year-old man from Mortimer was arrested on suspicion of: Conspire to commit a burglary dwelling with intent to steal Going equipped for burglary They remain in custody while our enquiries continue. | ||
