Appeal for witnesses and footage following serious road traffic collision in Cosham

We are appealing for witnesses and dash cam footage following a serious road traffic collision in Cosham.

The incident occurred at the junction of Medina Road and Sixth Avenue between 4.10pm and 4.20pm on Friday 27 February.

The collision was between a white Ford Transit Tipper van and an e-scooter. The rider of the of the e-scooter, a man in his 50s from Portsmouth, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, which are potentially life threatening.

The driver of the van, a 37-year-old man from Portsmouth, was detained at the scene.

He was arrested on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle on a road without third party insurance.

He has since been released on bail, pending further enquiries.
