Appeal for information following assault and attempted theft of bike in Portsmouth

We are appealing to the public for information about an assault and attempted theft of a bike on Palmerston Road, Portsmouth.

On Monday 27 June shortly after 1.50pm, a man approached a woman near to the Millets store and attempted to take her bike from her. The bike was not taken and the woman is not suspected to have suffered any serious injuries during the incident.

An investigation is underway and we have spoken to a number of witnesses that were in the area at the time.

We are now hoping to identify the woman with the bike who was approached by the man involved. She is described as approximately 35-years-old and spoke with a French accent.
