Winchester City Neighbourhood Policing Team Weekly Update It has been an eventful weekend for us here as we come to the end of our week of late shifts and onto our rest days. We have been busy policing a number of events in Winchester, ensuring everyone visiting these events stayed safe and tackling reports of anti-social behaviour around the city. Here are just a few of the highlights of what we have been up to:
- PC Wheeler and PC Baldwin assisted our rural colleagues and attended the Alresford Fireworks Show. Everyone was in high spirits and no incidents took place whilst they were there.
- Our team attended the Round Table Bonfire and Fireworks event yesterday evening, working with the event organisers to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we were prepared to deal with any incidents that occurred. Even though there was a large turnout to this event, we are happy to report that everything went as planned and no incidents took place. Pictured below is PC Wheeler in the event space and PC Andrews leading the procession.
- PS Keen and PC Andrews attended the Remembrance Sunday service this morning along with Deputy Chief Constable Sam de Reya, Chief Inspector Korine Bishop, and our colleagues from the Special Constabulary led by S/Sgt Drury. You can see them all pictured below in front of the Guildhall.
- On top of policing these events, we have also been busy conducting enquires for a number of reported incidents. One of these resulted in the arrest of a male made by PS Keen as part of Op Compile. This male was outstanding for a number of shoplifting offences and is now awaiting a day in court.
We hope that everyone had a good weekend and those who attended these events enjoyed their time there!
