Two men arrested after officers find suspected stolen goods in Farnborough


Two men have been arrested after officers found suspected stolen goods following a proactive stop in Farnborough yesterday.

Officers from the Hart and Rushmoor Priority Crime Team (PCT) were patrolling the town when they noticed a man acting suspiciously on Prospect Road at around 3pm on Tuesday 29 April.

The man drove away in a Ford car but was later stopped by officers. Two men were located in the vehicle and a search was carried out by the PCT, Armed Response Vehicle officers and the Dog Unit.

Officers located a number of suspected stolen goods, including electrical items, electric toothbrushes, shavers and watches. Drug paraphernalia and tools were also found inside the car.

All items, including the vehicle, were seized at the scene.

A 34-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods, going equipped for theft, theft of a motor vehicle, and driving a vehicle while unfit through drugs.

He was also arrested on suspicion of driving with a proportion of a specified drug above the specified limit, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, using a vehicle without third party insurance and fraud by false representation.

A 53-year-old man from London was arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods and going equipped for theft.

Both men remain in custody while our enquiries continue.
