Man, 28, given community order after Basingstoke indecent exposure incidents

A man has been given a two-year community order after he exposed himself to three female colleagues at his Basingstoke workplace.

Alexander Leslie, 28, of Harebell Road, Andover, was charged with three counts of indecent exposure following separate incidents in September and October 2022.

Winchester Crown Court heard that he told the three women that his uniform was too tight before exposing himself.

He was convicted following a trial and was sentenced at the same court on Friday 12 April.

Leslie received a two-year community order, which includes a 55-day sex offender programme and 10 days of rehabilitation activities or appointments.

He also has to carry out 100 hours community service within a 12-month period and has to pay £1,500 costs.

Leslie is also now a registered sex offender and must report to police for five years.

PC Christian Geldard, who led the investigation, said: “I would like to thank the women involved in this case for coming forward to give their account of what happened – they played a vital role in securing this conviction.

“Leslie’s actions placed the three women in an incredibly distressing situation. No one should be made to feel this way and I would like to commend them for reporting it.

“Our officers take reports of this kind extremely seriously and we will do everything in our power to put offenders before the court.”
