Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear Residents,

I hope you are all well and keeping safe. In light of recent events I wanted to hopefully send out some reassurance to you all. Please be assured your local neighbourhood policing team and its partners are doing everything we can to keep the public safe. It is also important that residents do there bit too by following the governments advice to help keep family and friends safe. Some of our engagements have had to be postponed however myself and the rest of my team will continue to be out and about in your area.

Below are some messages from the Constabulary.

In line with government advice and the latest information from Public Health England about keeping our communities and our staff safe, we have decided to postpone most face to face events.

We are out and about keeping you safe. Please do follow the latest advice from our partners at Public Health England to keep yourself healthy. If you do need our assistance, please contact us on 101 or online via our website www.hampshire.police.uk

Cyber criminals are exploiting people’s interest in COVID-19 to steal login details and download malware. This has increased as more people have become reliant on internet based services because they are working from home or in isolation. Please read and follow the current advice from the National Cyber Security Centre to avoid becoming a victim of Ransomware. https://www.ncsc.gov.uk/blog-post/updating-malware-ransomware-guidance

The community spirit already being shown is amazing with many community groups being set up to help residents in their areas - or are currently being set up. For those organisers I would like to share the following advice: If you are thinking about starting a group in your area or have already done so, please visit www.bvaction.org.uk/coronavirus-volunteering or call 01256 423852 to register your group and find contact details for accessing guidance and support.

Follow our Facebook page @BasingstokeCops for regular updates.

Look after each other and stay safe.

Go Well
