Crime alert to Farnborough residents

Alert message sent 06/09/2019 09:11:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear residents,

Two recent crime trends to be aware of:

Theft from Motor vehicle
We would like to make you aware that there has been a recent spate of theft from works vans in the Farnborough area. Five vans have been targeted in the last week. At all incidents a tool has been used to force entry to the rear or side door of the vehicles. Crime prevention advice can be found on the Hampshire Constabulary website or a van owner’s crime prevention pack can be requested by emailing rushmoor.police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk .

Theft Of Pedal Cycle
Yesterday there were five reports of stolen bicycles from both the town centre and North Camp areas. Two males in balaclavas were seen on CCTV at two of these thefts using bolt croppers to cut locks. We highly recommend a sturdy D-lock to protect your bike and not a cable lock. We sell Master Lock sold secure gold D-locks for £20 (half the RRP). Please email rushmoor.police@hampshire.pnn.police.uk if you are interested in buying one. There is also further crime prevention advice on the Hampshire Constabulary website.

If you are aware of any of the above mentioned crimes and have any information that may help identify a suspect then please contact Hampshire Police on 101 or via the website.

Kind Regards,

Farnborough NPT
