Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

We are now in a position to confirm the identity of a woman who died following an incident at a house in Hambledon.
Officers were called to the address in Vicarage Lane at 12.39pm on Monday 1 July, where they discovered the body of 50-year-old Joanna Thompson.
Joanna’s next of kin were informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
A Home Office Post-Mortem examination has taken place. Initial findings have indicated that the cause of death was injuries to the neck.
A teenager from the Hambledon area, arrested on suspicion of murder, has been released from custody but remains under investigation, and has been detained under Section 2 of the Mental Health Act.
The investigation continues.
