Theft from parked vehicles

Alert message sent 21/04/2019 22:00:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Dear all

Between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm on Sunday April 21st 2019 a van and a sports car were broken into at the Recreation Field at Wield Road, Preston Candover.
The thieves smashed a window to gain entry into the vehicles whilst their owners was only a short distance away. Several items including tools, wallets including documentation, bank cards etc. were stolen.
Some of the property has since been recovered at near by Farleigh Wallop near the church, as such I ask if anyone was in the area of the Recreation field at Preston Candover or near the Church at Farleigh Wallop to please give me a call on 101 or 0800.555111 at Crime Stoppers quoting crime reference 44190137299.
I wish to remind all residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles when parked up in isolated areas, thieves will be aware of electrical equipment that you may have in your vehicle, please also do not place handbags etc. under the seats as this is the first place thieves will look.
Many thanks
Andrew REID
Police Constable
