Appeal for information after incident in Municipal Park in Aldershot

Alert message sent 27/02/2019 12:56:00

Information sent on behalf of Hampshire Constabulary

Were you in or around Municipal Park in Aldershot on Monday afternoon?

We are looking into the circumstances of a young girl going missing from the park for several minutes.

The girl, who is aged five, was found safe and well just outside the park (also known as West End Park) in Grosvenor Road at around 3.45pm on Monday, February 25.

The girl had been in the children’s play area with two family members before it was noticed she was missing. They searched the area and found the girl alone in Laburnham Road.

The girl, who had long blonde hair in a ponytail and was wearing a burgundy red dress, told family members that a man had left her there.

She described the man as being white with blue eyes and black hair with a fringe that hung over one eye, and distinctive facial tattoos with a spider and a spider’s web under each eye.

He is also described as being chubby with a large stomach and was wearing a dark blue top, light blue jeans and black lace up shoes.

The park was very busy due to the unseasonably hot weather. Were you there or in the roads around the park?

Do you recognise the description? Did you see anyone behaving suspiciously?

Were you filming with your mobile phone? If you think you might have captured something which could help our enquiries, please get in touch.

If you have any information about this incident, please call 101, quoting Operation Blinding.

Officers are carrying out extra patrols in the area and enquiries are ongoing.
