Van owners are being urged to remain vigilant and follow crime prevention advice after a recent rise in tool theft in Aldershot. 

We know this has been an ongoing issue in the area and we are aware of the affect it is having on the local community.

Please be reassured that enquiries are ongoing into each of these reports as we continue to gather evidence in order to arrest offenders.

The recent reports have taken place in various parts of Aldershot, including Wellington Avenue, Cambridge Road, Waterloo Road, St Michael’s Road and Boxalls Lane. 

On some occasions, thieves have drilled through locks to gain entry to vans before stealing power tools and other work tools from inside. 

We are investigating these reports and following solid lines of enquiry to locate those responsible.

Vans are often targeted by thieves for the tools stored inside. If you have to leave tools in a van overnight, it is a good idea to mark them clearly with your name / company name and address. Items that are clearly marked are less desirable and more difficult to sell on.
